About Us
Ballet Conservatory West was founded in 2012 by Natalie Wright, Artistic Director, in Pacific Palisades, CA. Since then, the school has provided high quality classical ballet, tap, and modern dance training to over 1,200 students cumulatively. Ballet Conservatory West is delighted to have relocated to the East side of Los Angeles in Silver Lake.
BCW’s classical ballet curriculum has been carefully crafted to provide students with an enriching, authentic learning experience. Our twelve year syllabus thoughtfully progresses from beginning instruction through advanced courses, providing a complete education. It includes elements of the Russian and English ballet traditions with a focus on the George Balanchine technique and style, resulting in movement that possesses strength, versatility, clarity, energy, generosity, and great musicality. All students have the opportunity to perform in the school’s Annual Spring Concert.
BCW celebrates the diverse cultures of the communities we serve, while honoring our own multifaceted backgrounds. Our work is enriched through inclusivity, belonging, community involvement, and cultural awareness.
BCW believes that arts education builds crucial life skills that have the power to enrich a child’s present, as well as transform their future. Former students have used their training in many arenas both in and outside of the dance world, including further study at the School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, The Ailey School, Miami City Ballet School and San Francisco Ballet School, among others.
